About Buenos Aires

There are very good tools, very good ideas, but sometimes they are transposed to digital in quite an under-effective way, in our opinion.
So we tried to fill the gap with our own personal inclination of the theme. The result is this plugin, which continuously refines the frequency range and adds a custom high-quality preamplifier. From now on, Buenos Aires can easily take care of your top end of the spectrum, whether for subtle use in mastering or for a decisive sound design of the individual track or group. Even just passing through with zero GAIN, Buenos Aires can lend your mix a well-defined and pleasant analogue texture, bringing out the detail at the top end. This classic program-based parallel equaliser was what we felt was missing in our personal digital arsenal and it turned out so good we had to share it with you.

The controls

There are two bands to act on with boost only: SPOT and DEFINITION: the first band helps to detect the mid-high frequency point on which to add detail, while the second band adds definition to the extreme high frequencies. Buenos Aires can be used in stereo linked mode or with independent L/R, as well as in MID/SIDE mode, again linked or with independent M/S. The MASTER 1/2 button sets the controls in a narrower range of dB, a mode designed for use during mastering.
