SCARLET3 is a VST/AAX/AU plug-in that emulates a celebrated mastering device that is considered the first fully parametric equalizer ever appeared on the audio market.
The original hardware is surrounded by a kind of mystical aura: only a few dozen units have ever been made in the course of 4 decades, each of them hand-assembled by the designer himself. For those lucky enough to own one, usually there is no sum of money large enough to convince them to part with their beloved unit.
The universal appreciation of this machine is wholly justified by the transparency of its sonic action and the quality of the electronic and mechanic components used for its manufacturing: military grade rotary switches, precision resistors, proprietary discrete op-amps, not a single capacitor on the signal path. SCARLET3, brings you the faithful digital emulation of this iconic processor.
SCARLET3 is a dual-mono equalizer: each of its 2 channels can be independently adjusted or, alternatively, every control can be conveniently linked with its counterpart in the other channel, a very practical option when working with already well-balanced stereo programs.
Each of the 5 equalizer bands can be individually enabled. The first and last band give a shelving response; the low shelf comes with a choice between 2 different operating frequencies (50 or 100Hz).
The other 3 bands (Lo, Mid, Hi) have a bell-shaped response, with adjustable level (+/- 6dB), frequency (24 stepped overlapping values for each band) and bandwidth values.
A separate preamp stage is available, as well. Although being extremely subtle, it may be enabled whenever the precise general phase and frequency response of the original hardware is called for.

SCARLET3 Acqua plugin is based on CORE8, a brand new implementation of multithreading technology by Acustica.
CORE8 is an optimization of CORE7 in terms of high performance and general code optimization. Furthermore, it introduces new important features such as FIR-IIR algorithmic sidechain and predisposition for a FIR-IIR clipper, both of which are bound to be fully exploited in future Acqua releases.
