Hosts and operating systems compatibility
All Acustica Audio products support Intel 64 bits architecture. A compatibility chart is maintained and updated by our support service. The following table shows the released Acqua Effect plug-ins that are already compatible with Intel 64 and ARM Silicon architecture, and macOS Big Sur operating system.
The Silicon M1 computers use a different architecture from the previously Intel 64 architecture, which means that the Silicon M1, or coming ARM-based Apple computers, can’t easily run the same applications that they used to be able to, so the application for Silicon M1 computers now has to be written for a new architecture standard.
To ease this transition from Intel 64 architecture to Silicon architecture, Apple created the Rosetta 2 mode. The Rosetta 2 is an application that runs in the background and allows Intel 64 based application to run on your Silicon M1 computer or coming ARM-based Apple computers, without it, your Silicon M1 computer cannot interpret the Intel 64 applications.
After several tests, we have detected that our products do not run correctly in the Rosetta 2 mode and we recommend using always application with a specific build for Silicon computers.
