ACQUA - Viridian2

Viridian2 is a AU/VST/AAX plugin suite based on several iconic units. It embodies the essence of the 60s and 70s, bringing you the legendary British tone of some of the world's most exclusive solid-state vintage studio gear, used on countless groundbreaking records that helped write the history of music. In order to give you an even more comprehensive set of tools, we even included a powerful modern reissue of a coveted FET studio compressor, revered by studio engineers all over the world. Plus, for some authentic tube fairy dust, we included a hyper-rare German console from the early 60s.

Viridian2 includes 6 preamps, 3 magnificent compressor models with preamps and 3 equalizers with full band interaction. The third volume of our Divine Comedy inspired trilogy, Viridian2 lets you explore the vastness of sonic paradise, taking you on a journey into analog sound, and elevating your productions.

A matter of interaction

We know EQs well. Very well we should say. After analyzing and recreating dozens of legendary designs, we immediately noticed something particular about this unit and in the way its different bands interact with each other. This behavior is an integral part of the DNA of this EQ and it is what makes it sound so special. We have worked hard to faithfully recreate this complex interaction between - and across - bands, so you can exploit all the subtleties the hardware is capable of.

If you are looking for a beast compressor that is able to mangle, crush, squash and model your sound like clay, look no further. Viridian2 includes what we think is one of the most powerful analog compressors we have ever recreated in the digital domain. Simple in operation, but extremely versatile, and it includes its own preamp, giving you the exact same sound of the original hardware units.



Included plugins:

  • VIRIDIAN2 Channel-strip;
  • VIRIDIAN2 EQ (Equalizer standalone module);
  • VIRIDIAN2 COMP  (Limiter/Compressor standalone module);
  • VIRIDIAN2 PRE (Preamps standalone module);

For each plugin included inside Viridian there is a “Standard” version or an alternative “ZL*” version that operates at *zero latency at the cost of extra processing resources and is thus suitable for use when tracking.



  • Create a user account (if you do not have one yet) on our website
  • Download and Install Aquarius, our products manager, for either Mac or PC
  • Log in to Aquarius using your user email and password
  • Type the product name in the 'search' field inside Aquarius to find the '(trial)' version of the product, then click on the thumbnail or on the 'Install' button. This will take you to the product page (the trial version of a product is also visible in the 'related products' section on the right)
  • Select the right plugin format according to the DAW you are using and click 'Install'
  • Aquarius will download, install, and authorize the trial product automatically
  • Run your DAW. You're set!

Viridian2 is based on our Core 13 engine:

  • Our Core 13 engine improves on the previous version by introducing our new VLA™ technology (Vector Loading Acceleration), which makes the response of the plugin much faster.
  • Upgraded SASM (Symmetric & Asymmetric Saturation Modeling) high-performance saturation algorithm;
  • Introduction of a new post-production sample de-noising tech for cleaner deconvolved impulses called STT (Super transient technology);
  • Full compatibility with Client/Server architecture integrated by default in Acqua plugins;
  • Engine optimization introducing a new highly efficient algorithm. This innovative technique is applied to all the deconvolved impulses for further de-noise processing and subsequent elimination of any incorrect low-level behavior (including the so-called "echo bug").
