Using Nebula for guitar tone

Postby Formbank » Wed Apr 14, 2010 12:18 pm

Greetings,

I'm new to Nebula, but I've been spending a lot of time with it recently and it's the business ! I also bought the 'Producers Pack' (1 and 2), the 'Tube Console Bundle' and the 'EMT140VNXT' plates and they are all fantastic.

I was wondering if it would be okay to post a clip of a few guitar tones I've got using nebula here ? They are just 'sketches' to give an idea of the sound(s) I'm getting as opposed to a finished track.

As I said, I've spent a lot of time with Nebula (Nebula 2 that is - I'm going to upgrade soon) recently and have come up with a chain of nebula programs that I think give a really good overdriven guitar tone(s).

cheers,

Cheers Giancarlo,

Here's 2 examples of the 'nebula guitar tone' I'm getting:
'PKnebulaguitar1' is an overdriven rhythm guitar clip
and 'PKnebulaguitar2' is a short solo.

Here's a yousendit link (14MB zip) for them (320 kbps mp3s):
(will be active for a week)

https://www.yousendit.com/download/bFFO ... RTN2Wmc9PQ

The chain of nebula programs is as follows:

Guitar > Zoom G2.1U effects pedal, set to an overdriven patch I've programmed into it, which is pretty good, but very 'fizzy' >

'Sure II' mic >
'Mesa/Boogie 4X12 SM57 on Centre' cabinet >
'RealTile' reverb from CDsoundmaster's Producers Pack 2

For the solo, I also used the 'BMvoxtonebright1' preamp program (great for a mid boost) from the Producers Pack 2 (before the mic) and the 'Real percussion' reverb instead of the 'Realtile' program.

Hope people find them to be of interest !

Those 'PKnebulaguitar' yousendit links are now dead (sorry about that, am low on server space).
For anyone interested, here's another noodle with the following chain used to get the sound:

Guitar > Zoom G2.1U effects pedal, set to an overdriven patch I've programmed into it, which is pretty good, but very 'fizzy'.

Nebula programs:
'Sure II' mic >
'BMvoxtonebright1' from CDsoundmasters Producers Pack 2 >
'Mesa/Boogie 4X12 SM57 on Centre' cabinet > (by KingDiamond)
'woodroom' reverb from CDsoundmaster's Producers Pack 2

It can be downloaded here:

cheers
