Metal (well, d-beat!) using Nebula!

Postby woeischris » Sun Aug 29, 2010 5:05 am

This is my first track using AlexB's Modern White Console! Input 1 on all tracks, bounced, brought back in, then used the buss channels for guitar, drums, and master. While mastering, I used the MWC MBM from the R2R trial first, compressed/compressed/Color Tape from the Pro Library/limiter. The MWC mix compared to the version without it sounds SUBSTANTIALLY better. It significantly added depth to every instrument.

sounds ace and fat on my speakers. maybe the snare and kick could do with a very slight more top end?

Love the warm guitar sound very much

I think you've got a problem in the guitarbreak.

I realized (was told) that my sample rate wasn't converting properly so I fixed it. That link is now to the new version, which sounds very subtly better. Still not sure what the problem is in the guitar break though!

nice sound! warm and fat.
i don't know what barendse spotted as problem in the guitar break, what i hear is the distortion not fading away with the long tones, but breaking away.
but maybe it is intended?

anyway, nice mix!
and i like the drums being dark,

Some kind of crackling sound, I checked the new version and it's almost gone now.

Hello woeischris. Check this: http://transcendingmusicstudios.com/behemoth.html, listen first audio demos.

Could you make a new version at -9 dBFS RMS?
