I am a huge Nebula fan. This is a song I am currently working on with an amazing vocalist I have worked with for years. We used to have a pretty successful alt-pop band and now he is in Boston in a band named Wayside (check them out). Anyway, this song is in need of some keys, preferably B3 or similar, and some tasty bass. I am a good bass player, but I am wanting a different flavor this time, someone who is not as entrenched in the song and hears it with fresh ears. Vocals are not tracked yet, he wants to hear the foundation first. Also, song is not eq-ed or cleaned up yet as I have learned to not waste time with finding pockets for things until all or at least most things are tracked. But everything besides drums have been put through what I now call "the early Nebulizing" (full tube/console/tape/console signal path). Anyone interested?
By the way, there are 4 beats of silence, 8 beats of click, and then the drum lead in. Just so you can line it up for your own editing purposes. And while I tend to trust humanity, for the record, I do register everything I do with my copyright account, so please respect artists and don't "borrow" our ideas. Peace.
Another add-on; if anyone needs a more minimal mix, let me know. There is an extended guitar solo and if a key player wants to throw down a killer solo here, I am willing to negotiate solo space! Also, I realized that there are some not very tweaked high and low pass filters on the crunchy guitars, and when I listened to the rough mix on my stereo, they sound a bit dark. I intended on dark, but not that dark! Anyway, it will all be sonically fixed in the end. And please leave any tracks of yours unprocessed so I can "Nebulize" them to match up. Cheers again!
Yay, a response! I don't really have low self esteem, I was just trying to stir things up a little. I may track the bass myself, I am actually a good bass player (for a guitarist! lol), but I really really want someone elses flavor for once. Take a shot at it Mplay. If you have the time, it is good practice at least! I have a cleaner version these days, so if you actually want to do it and want another mix, let me know. Cheers!
