For the past 2 years, I have been working on an album of African music for some singers in Inhambane, Mozambique. I read about a remix project called Remixinhambane (http://www.remixinhambane.com) where they supply awesome vocal parts, maybe a scratch track of some sort (rough guitar, piano, etc) maybe not. Then they requested artist all over the world to create songs around these vocals. Typically an artist/producer will take 1 or 2 of the vocals create a pop song, dance song, even hip hop or trance...something that may get some commercial attention. I happen to have a history in African and reggae music that goes back over 20 years, so I was extremely interested in this project. But because I don't have a passion for club and dance tunes, I soon realized that I wanted to create African music for these African singers, but it will not fit the format of the remix project. So I contacted Max Kamenar , the main man behind the wonderful project. I asked (even begged him) to let me do some of the songs in more of an African style. He said that he loved the idea but as I said, it would not fit the project album. So I had a lightening brain-storm....I suggested that I do an entire album, using all of the vocal parts that they had at that time. He thought I was crazy (and he is right, but I am safe enough), but said yes. So now almost 2 years later and MANY MANY nebula and Acqua instances (way too many to itemize), the albums are a few months from and official release. Art-work is being done right now, but I couldn't wait to at least share the music with this amazing (and probably equally CRAZY) community. Here is a soundcloud link to my album. https://soundcloud.com/richinmusic/sets ... oundyaudio I would love to know how people feel about the music. If you are curious about some of the remixes, here ya go! https://soundcloud.com/remixinhambane
And if anyone is interested in getting involved and doing some remixes, they have already begun releasing new vocal tracks to be included in the Volume 2 remix album. Go to the first link, read up, and get a vocal stem or 2. Go show off your stuff!!!

Thanks everyone. And I want people to know that I am not submitting here to show off ME, but am trying to showcase these amazing artists in Mozambique. As I said, it was a labor of love...A TON of work, but well worth it! I also am hoping people check out the remix project that inspired me in the first place. It's a very cool and adventurous ambitious, go grab some vocal stems and make some awesome music that you would have never been inspired to make if you had not discovered the vocals! It's liberating! Oh yeah, and of course, use so many Nebulas that your CPU bursts into flames!! I did many times.....(the local fire department quit coming after the 3rd or 4th call by the neighbors.......)
