What about bass pickup covers

Postby tunca » Mon May 06, 2013 12:21 am

Hi,

I know it looks awesome. But any difference on sound?

RFI protection? Solid magnetic field?

I think it's not about only aesthetic.

Please some info.

Thanks.

I understand man. Don't want to see you get bent out of shape if no one here has the best answer, because there's no way I could answer that knowledgeably

Metal conducting covers can have a damping effect due to eddy current loss which can dampen the pickup's resonant peak. Non-conducting covers (plastic, wood, etc.) will have no effect, other than the potential reduced proximity to the strings due to their thickness.
