Generally speaking, Time Constants of 5 or 6 are popular for mastering.

Also, with the SHMOD control, much more flexibility handling how Attack reacts.

Not redundant in middle-side setup.

Actually, you can adjust the ratio/knee to an extent on the original unit (by trimmers inside).

This wouldn't be practical to sample though AFAIK, as you'd need to fully sample all time constants and input levels many many times over to capture the range of the knee. It would require constant adjustment of the threshold control when changing the knee/ratio behavior.

All versions are in the main UM folder in your dashboard.

Yes it should be available as commercial and trial downloads.

And it's really sounding good. Time constant 1 almost sounds too fast on the release now compared to other versions or plugins, but Giancarlos explanation makes sense.

For some reason with UM3 time constant 5 sounds absolutely great pummeling overheads or room mics on drums - whereas before I always used 1 or 2. Nice smooth pump!

Must say WOW!

Amazing monster. Full of character, and also very transparent compression. Ultramarine3 knows how to treat a song musically.

Congratulatios Giancarlo and AA Team. I'm very impressed with the results achieved in this release.

I'm not sure I understand this answer.
In a Mid-Side setup you don't need linked controls. In fact, you only need linked controls when working in stereo. And when working in a stereo linked setup it makes more sense if the filters are linked too. Just my impressions.

Hi, yeah that's what I thought, they should be shouldn't they - can only see original ultramarine and original demo though...

I'll have to email support.

Thanks

Just open the original UM folder in your dashboard. You'll find UM3 plus any previous versions.
