I would love to hear if my impression makes any sense and can be confirmed or not:
I just updated Ultramarine to Ultramarine 2 and much to my surprise - to my ears acutally- they don't sound the same at the same setting (stereo, 44,1khz, controls linked, ca. 1db compression,Preamp on).
(Ultramarine 1 sounded 'richer, sweeter, more coloured, rounder, less dull').The drums which I ran trough it just felt different.
Could it be that something somewhere has changed on Ultramarine 2? Transformer, compression-wise(threshold?) or anything else?

ok, I tried nulling by routing a drum stereo channel to 2 aux channels with Ultramarine 1 and 2 respectively on them... and they didn't null when phase reversing one aux channel. This could have other reasons I suppose as well.
But it is also my ears that seem to tell me the same.

Please don't change anything soundwise of Ultramarine 1 when adapting to Core 7 and eventually 8!

Many thanks in advance for confirmation, explanation or correction of my findings.

Looking forward to hearing from users and support.

regards

Hi,
thanks for your reply.

1) If UM2 has these issues and not everyone is probably following this thread here on this forum/thread:
Should the UM2 upgrade not better be taken off the download page then? ... or at least a warning on the dashboard/cloud?!
2) Are there any known serious issues with UM1 as well and therefore I should rather not use Ultramarine at all until v3 is out?

3) Will UM3 be released within July or August?

Many thanks and regards

How long will the discounted price be available for Ultramarine? I have been trying to save for it before I trial it... just in case I can't live with out it. :geek:

It took less than 2 minutes of trying the demo to realise Ultramarine does things none of my other plugins can hope to do. Exceptional :o

UM3 is unbelievable and in conjunction with pearl it's a finished mastering session already i dare say.

thank you guys very much!

btw, i know you're all busy but is pearl scheduled for core7-9 anytime soon?

it got it's core6 quirks, and is paling in comparison cpu-wise with the new core features of your lines.

very best,
EQualizer, Nebula, Coffee.

Do we have the 48-88.2 pack included in the actual downloads on our dashboards for UM3 ?

You don't need it for a compressor not an EQ.
