Murano

Postby Nesto » Mon Feb 08, 2016 6:28 am

Hey all, I'm not sure if this has been reported but the meters on Murano are all over the place and deactivating the sidechain on the Discrete portion of the compressor results in no movement on the meters and the plugin becomes unresponsive. In addition, on occasion the volume increases when the sidechain is deactivated. I have a few days left before the return policy 14 days ends and wanted to know if I am alone or if this will be fixed in the near future. Im enjoying the compressor otherwise but this causes me to waste too much time as I cant match settings without knowing how much compression is happening. Thanks

It would seem that the in out switch on the discrete side is actually the plugin bypass  so that would make sense as to why it is unresponsive. So I guess all I need are more responsive meters.

Do not rely on any of Acusticas meters for now, they will be
fixed but you will not find any better compressor. An update
is in the works too and coming soon i think. Just keep it.

I'd keep it too. Yes, the meters are not very accurate, but once you get a feel for the sound of it, it's indispensable! I have yet to meet a track that this compressor didn't make an improvement on with the right settings.

Start with the one that will end up on every track, Navy.

When the meters for discrete start moving, you're already about 1~2dB deep by my estimate. It starts touching the envelope quite quickly before registering on the VU metet... and the meters aren't that responsive all the time.

Still, just use your ears and all will be fine.

Really hope the bug with the mix knob not working when the sidechain filter is in will be corrected.
