But in nebrender GUI, it says:
Nebula engine: STARTING...(11) 1.3.402

This is OK - NRGUI shows ACQUA Nebula library version which is independent of installed Nebula (it is used only in NRGUI).

Normally NebulaMan should proceed to the settings page (init error message is normal at the first start).
I suspect there may be a problem with a soundcard initialization.

I will send you special version of NebulaMan, which will create a log file, which you will then send to me. Hopefully then I will be able to locate cause of the problem more precisely.

We'll be in touch !

Thanks

NEBULAMAN 1.0 alpha 12 (win, osx)

Postby zabukowski » Fri Sep 02, 2011 3:55 pm

What's new 0.11 -> 0.12

- licensing support (look below)
- if output folder doesn't exist when rendering, it is now automatically created
- license info./credits window
- default sample rate setting (Quick Guide page 5)
- a lot of small changes, enhancements etc.

LICENSING SUPPORT

As already mentioned, this version introduces licensing. You'll need a valid license file to run NebulaMan. Just send your name and email to zabukowski at gmail dot com and I will send you a license file ASAP.

Copy provided license file to the folowing location:
windows: NebulaMan program folder
osx: /user/library/preferences

If license is valid, program will run - you can check license info thru 'About' menu option.

---
As usual, if you have problems with a program, first try to delete "nmsettings.xml" and "nebulaman.layout" files to reset it.

Enjoy 8-)

NebulaMan is not officially released yet, so you can't buy it (it is still in the developement 'alpha' stage)

You can download and try it for free. Look at the post above yours.

Thx for your interest !

HINT:

Because NebulaMan preview file is not a part of the NebulaMan project (it is not saved with a project), it is a good idea to add files, which are to be previewed inside our project, to the 'Rendering plan'.

Why?

Because double click on a particular file inside rendering plan, causes this file to becoma the main 'preview' file.

As you know, you can have as many files as you want inside rendering plan. So, you can quickly switch between files by double clicking on them.

Enjoy :)

Upcoming alpha 13 will introduce few cool new features:

- option to jump to the last start position when playback is stopped (nice, if you want to preview file again and again from the same time position)

- replace selected FX (insert) with
the currently selected program in the Nebula program list
the next program in the Nebula program list
the previous program in the Nebula program list
I wanted to do this from the beginning - changing programs quickly on the fly, always replacing selected FX insert.

HINT:

Normalizing options (found on the 'rendering plan' dock) are also active, when previewing files. They can be a lot of help, when previewing/processing very hot, loud files (for example "finished" masters, which you must fix :)

Instead of lowering input level, just set 'Normalize to (peak RMS)' to let's say '-18' db and disable 'temporarily' option.

HINT:

If you want to disable all FX in the 'Master FX' dock, don't use global 'Bypass' option. When normalizing to a lower level, it can blow your speakers & ears, because 'bypass' will also disable normalizing.

Instead of that, select all FX (Ctrl-a) and use '(un)check selected FX' button in the 'Master FX' dock.

Enjoy :)

alpha 13 will also have a special feature called "Descriptions update". It will allow updates/changes of selected Nebula program/library descriptions.

In the final release, there will be a special descriptions files available as a bonus download. I think you know who is THE MAN behind these files :) (think Reaper FX chains). Most of the Nebula libraries will be covered and new libraries descriptions will be added, when available.
