"Acqua initialization error" means that you have to set up Acqua/Nebula XML file in the NebulaMan settings window (use one that you are using for your Nebula plugin - for example "Nebula3 Reverb.xml" in the Acustica vstplugins folder). This is the case with all of my programs (NRGUI, Nebula Set-ups and NebulaMan)

Is this version still working? It says here that it was supposed to expire on June 14.

Thanks in advance!

Ups, it is not working anymore :(

I will hopefully upload next version in a day or two (with peak RMS analyzing/normalizing).

Sorry for inconvenience :(

What's new 0.9 -> 0.10

- new icon (experimental :) - windows only
- ACQUA library 1.3.488 (windows only - osx version still has some compatibilty problems with newer programs)

HOT:
Peak RMS analyzing/normalizing of the audio files (previewing/rendering)

This is a popular feature, known from NRGUI/Nebula renderer.

Because developers of the Nebula programs often recommend input level, which is optimal for their programs, NebulaMan now allows you to define „peak RMS“ level, to which files will be automatically normalized before previewing/rendering (for example -18db). NebulaMan will find peak RMS value of the processed file and adapt file level according to the desired level.

Normalize options can be found on the „Rendering plan“ dock. Note, that this also affects preview.

„Normalize to (peak RMS)“ checkbox – must be checked in order to normalize function become active
Desired peak RMS value (from 0 to -24 dbFS)
„Temporarily" checkbox - if checked, file level will be automatically returned to the original value after processing

There are two new parameters in the „Settings“ dock, which are directly related to normalizing functionality.

„Threshold“ for the average RMS calculations (default -70 dbFS)
„Resolution/window size“ for the min/max RMS calculations (default 50 ms)

In most cases, these values should work – if you find NebulaMan calculating unusual (unreal ? :) peak/average RMS values for audio files, you should try changing these values.

Hint 1
As usual, if you have problems with a program, first try to delete "nmsettings.xml" and "nebulaman.layout" files to reset it.

Hint 2
If you want to see more details about what's going on (RMS values etc.), you should set "loglevel" to 1 or 2 (file nmsettings.xml)! Message window will show a lot of interesting info :)

Download links removed (version expired)

Enjoy 8-)

Hi Zab,

I'm sure it's my fault but I'm not able to see the new icon.
Do you mean the icon for Nebulaman or just icon for tools inside Nebulaman?

Anyway, I just tried the new version on 10.6.7 and it works very well!
Just a render for only a file, nothing complicated. I'll check the new features (rms especially) just when I get time. I'm looking forward to buy it.

When do you plane to sell it? No hurry, no stress for you, just to know. :)
Thanks a lot!

Mr. Zabukowski

This is definitely a pleasant surprise to see
that this may actually come in to being

I am currently using a MacBook Pro
with six gigs ram and rendering as part of my workflow

I do get ACQUA Intialization error on my
10.6.7 snow leopard

The Program quits suddenly

Looking forward to this :)

Take Care and as the gentleman said earlier

It would definitely make my Nebula Life
a little lovelier :D

I am really sorry, but new icon is available only for windows version - in a rush i simply forgot to do it on osx  You'll have to wait for 0.11 :(

So far, everything went rather smoothly (hope this is not a bad sign :) ??)
Most of the desired goals for the initial release are achieved. There are few things more, like template support, user manual and a lot of testing, polishing, bugfixing etc. etc..
Hopefully NebulaMan will go into a 'beta' stage after 0.11 release.

But I guess we are not very far anymore, at least if there will be no unexpected tehnical complications.

No rush here - but i must say i am very excited to see how people start to like this program. NebulaMan was initially developed mostly according to my personal needs for rendering (and my programming passion :), but now I see i am on the right path.

Thank you for your support :)

Tried the 1.0 alpha 0.10 on Win7 64bit.

Quite nice :)

Except I get error everytime I closed the NebulaMan.
Error: "Failed to open C:/Program Files(x86)/Zabukowski/NebulaMan/nebulaman.layout"
Access denied.

About the preview playback, an additional switch between "stop play and return to start position" and "stop now" for the space key would be perfect.
Much easy for program comparison IMHO.

Thanks man

Ups, this is strange, You are the first user to report this.

Layout file is needed for storing NebulaMan screen layout (docks etc.). Looks like there is some file/folder protection going on.
First try to run NebulaMan as an administrator.

Does NebulaMan saves/restores other settings successfully (programs, files etc.) ??

Good idea! I will keep this in mind. Anyway, I have few more ideas for the transport bar, which will be improved in the future.
