CLOSED - Nebula Set-ups 1.2a (freeware)

Postby zabukowski » Thu Dec 16, 2010 9:32 pm

EDIT:
Released - you can find the latest version here:
http://www.zabukowski.com/software

This is the first experimental version of a program called Nebula Setups !!!

Program creates a custom named copy of an existing Nebula plugin (dll and xml)

Program also creates a custom program list (Nebula setup file) – you can select which programs will be included in this list. Setup file is usually located inside \nebulatemprepository\setups folder.

Final result will be a custom Nebula plugin and a custom program list!

What is on the screen ?

Source Nebula XML: existing xml file which belongs to your default Nebula plugin (usually located in Acustica VST folder). Valid full path must be specified !!

Destination Nebula XML: new xml, which will be created together with new dll file. Full path must be specified !

Left pane: very basic program list – select programs with click, shift-click, control click etc.

Right pane: traditional log window :)

Usage:

- specify valid path to the source Nebula Plugin.
- specify valid path for a new plugin
- press 'Load programs'
- select programs
- press 'GO!'
- load new custom plugin into your DAW and check programs available

Again, this is very experimental, but not very far from truth.

Note:
Program reordering is not done, yet.
Loading/editing existing setup files is not done, yet.

You're welcome to try, test, report bugs and give any feedback ;)

Enjoy 8)

Hi!

Right now I'm using the PC version of NRGui Free in Parallels because the Mac version is not that usable.. . I'm lucky enough that it works, though it's a workflow kille when you need to A/B as much programs as possible to make mixing decisions ...

Since Nebula has officially become AU compliant, can you follow-up with that and start developpements with Mac users in mind from the get go?

Meaning mac users woould not get the underrated versions and PC users all the bells and whistles... ?

I'll stop ranting now :)

THKS for the free stuff anyway - your initiative and contribution are really much appreciated

Great idea, but how do you update those? I suppose you have to do the same thing all over again for every update.

+1 on the mac version too.

As I said, updating/editing of existing setups is yet to be done. This preview version is showing VERY basic functionality. If Nebula community will like this idea, i will develop it further!

My time schedule is currently not allowing me to go deeper into mac osx porting. I have a plan to convert all my applications to cross-platform Lazarus developement tool. This will allow me to have the same code for Win, OSX etc.

Well, we waited some time for Nebula OSX to be ready, I guess we'll have to wait a little more for other programs to be OSX ready, too ;)

Excellent work. You dont update the custom presets you just overwrite them with a limited number of progs. Then specify the skin.
Thanks for this. Much needed

There are some problems (errors) with current version.
New version will come soon (with more proper ACQUA program browsing and misc enhancements)

Setups worked fine on my test machine running just nebula3Free.
On my main music machine with the licenced version of nebula3 it throws an error & wont allow me to select the libraries I want to include:assertion failure (E:\ZabukowcSoftware\AudioProgramming\NebulaSetups\MainFormUnit.pas, line 401)
http://www.box.net/shared/q4djzhnmkj
Could be the modified categories Ive set up with Nat I guess.
Is there a workaround? cheers

Nebula Setups win 1.0 alpha 3

Postby zabukowski » Sun Dec 19, 2010 3:04 pm

Rememember, alpha is not even beta yet. It is a developement version, not all features are there etc.

This one resolves misc issues (assertion errors) found in preview version. Basic functionality is THE SAME (no setups editing, yet), but it feels much better :).

- ACQUA powered
You'll have to setup ACQUA config at first start (settings tab - select correct file and press '(re)load ACQUA'.
For those who don't know ACQUA - for configuration it's the best to select Nebula XML file (for example: Nebula3 Reverb.xml), usually found in the Acustica vst folder.

- programs are automatically (re)loaded with ACQUA
- misc interface changes (tabs)
- settings file (nssettings.xml) provided

Extract rar and run nebulasetups.exe !
Thanks Gian for help!

I guess it's time for new (missing) features - well, christmas is coming or what ;)

Enjoy 8-)

Nice, thanks for the fix.

But now...how to load programs? :?

No programs are in the list.
