zabukowski,

I have a question. I haven't mess with NebulaMan 1.5 yet. But is it possible to do this. Use rms normalization with True peak normalizing as clipping protection.

Example let say i use rms normalization at -18 with hi-hats track but to reach -18 rms its clipping. Could NebulaMan automatically use true peak normalization setting to make sure its not clipping?

Unfortunately, this is not possible at the moment.

RMS/true peak analyzing/normalizing in NebulaMan is done at INPUT stage. You are actually talking about OUTPUT normalizaton, which is not there, yet (except EBU R128).

I would recommend to use true peak normalization for drums/perc files and peak RMS for others. In practice, using peak RMS normalization for high transient/low RMS material is not effective and leads to clipping.

Normalization type is now a property, which can be defined independently for each file to be rendered.

I really like the chance to move sliders with up/down arrows: it's perfect for fine movements. The new Nebula Category Tree is really cool, too. :)

On 10.7.5 it seems to work fine. I had a couple of crash (close/reopen thing) while I was selecting the Nebula3Reverb.xml and selecting the licence file but, after that, no problem (anyway no intense use yet).

Glad you like it :) I'm also frequently using right click on a slider to enter an exact value.

If you'll by any chance find a step by step procedure to crash NebulaMan which you can repeat, please let me know. I haven't experienced any crashes here.

Thanks!

Good to know, good tip.

I thought that it crashed when I selected the Nebula3Reverb.xml file because of the huge library on an external harddrive. I'm just guessing, I don't know what happen behind the scenes. After that event it works fine.

Just a quick report :)

1.5 dev 2 is almost !??! ready

So many new things, which I already test and use for my production and I couldn't be happier.

Making complex console setups (AlexB for example) for rendering is now piece of cake, thanks to fx chains inserted to groups, directories and files (Project pool dock)

Just load console master bus at the top, load specific input and bus presets for each group (vocals, drums, guitars etc.) and load additional programs for each file, if needed.

At the input stage, use "True peak" normalization for drums group, use "Peak RMS" for everything else.

+ many other goodies - drag & drop support, 5 preview sources and some radical background improvements.

I am very excited, can't wait to show you this one :)
