Just finished sampling my Revox A77!

Postby nickvivid » Tue Jun 07, 2016 5:04 pm

My first Nat project, decided to jump in with sampling my revox a77 (w/emi-abbey road mod) at 15ips. It was a LOT of work, but came out fantastic. Saturation is beautiful!

Did 5 programs: preamp , SM468, Scotch 206, Quantegy 456, and SM911.

Question: How can I post these to share with everyone else? Can I go free with donations and post them on a website?

you certainly can. if you'd rather not go that route, you can simply upload them to dropbox and share the link on this forum.

exciting stuff! :) looking forward to it...
ok, bye!!!

be careful with dropbox
it will shut down very fast, as freebies often go like hot cakes :)

i have my freebies up on mediafire, which works quite well for a long time now.
website is also an option, if you have enough traffic possibility from the webhoster.

great to see something coming up from the community 8-)
system 1: windows 8 32 bit - samplitude prox, tracktion6, reaper
system 2: mac osx yosemite - reaper(32+64bit), tracktion6(32+64bit)

both systems on: macbook pro (late 2009), core 2 duo 3,06 ghz, 4 gb ram, graphic: nvidia geforce 9600M GT 512 MB

Cool, thanks everyone for the replies.

I was considering dropbox, but thanks for the tip on mediafire. I think I'll go that route. I have an old domain that i haven't done anything with for a while now, so I think I'll set up a wordpress for it this weekend, since I plan on doing more stuff. (Already thinking my helios type 69 500 series and some cool vintage transformers that I used a lot in my old studio).

I'll post a link when it's all up and running.

Transformers? Yes please - that would be great!
This is a 'secret weapon' not really represented in Nebula except for one 3rd party outfit,, Imo a significant component of what people interpret as vintage sound / tonal character, especially tube/valve stuff, is quite likely due to the transformers.. Also I suspect the reason tube gear often is perceived to sound better when 'warmed up' (hint hint) is actually not the tubes but the transformer cores heating up & changing properties somewhat as the entire chassis heats up. Anyway, good luck & thanks for the efforts! (Also, I love Helios 69 :-)!)

i know my question is more subjective , but would the Revox A77 be good on individual tracks or best on buses/master buss seeing that it it is a 2 track machine.
ITB: i7-4770 3.4ghz, 32GB Ram, Windows 10, Nebula 3 Server Ultimate,Protools 11, Cubase LE 8, Reaper 4, Flstudio 12, Komplete 10 ultimate,i also have a need for authentic analog tone
