EQ Freq spread across Nebula fader/knob

Postby RJHollins » Thu Mar 24, 2016 7:09 pm

I have a general question.

With an EQ band that has a range of continuous of frequencies from x-y ...

How are these frequencies mapped to Nebula's GUI fader or knob ?

We know that these fader/knobs are LINEAR controls.

UN-knowns are:
1. The actual number of samples taken for the preset.
2. the frequencies used to sample.
3. Interpolation ?

Please help me understand the basics.

Thank-you.

1. See uncrypted emulation preset.
2. See NAT session.
3. See template used.

very complex to explain, but you can do whatever you have in your mind.... all possible mappings are virtually allowed...

ahhh ... this is what I wondered about. There are libraries I work with that seem to have an arbitrary spread across the fader [position to freq selection], while other libraries have 'even' spacing as we scroll through.

Unfortunately, to get specific answer, it looks like I'd need to contact the library creator regarding the logic used.

The reason for this inquest deals with mapping 'Controllers' to a Nebula library. This issue is illustrated when trying to configure the 'NYRV AGENT' program.

Not sure at this time if I will. I did have an earlier design available with a website. I've closed it down for now.

This new design concept is what I wanted to get to, it is basically an open RACK design. Currently set for 8 modules ... but designed to easily expand up to controlling 16 NEBULAS ... completely from a single GUI interface via MIDI protocol.

If/When time allows, I'll try to post a new thread to give them a show.
