offline vs online sampling?

Postby JEL » Mon Feb 15, 2016 3:16 am

So we can sample hardware directly or in offline-mode.

When using the sampler we set latency...
When we sample offline we don't set latency...

So is there any difference to the deconvolved result between these 2 modes?

Is the deconvolution more precise when it's done via the direct-sampler (since it knows the latency between output and input samples)?

Or is offline deconvolution equal in precision?

Basically; will final quality differ between using the direct-sampler or offline-mode, or is it just as safe to use offline-mode?

Thanks.

Both method will be in sync if not kernel goes corrupted. Offline advantages are: use OSX for record or use less optimized computer for record. Deconvolution is always offline and no quality difference.
