What has happened to NAT??

Postby richie43 » Wed Dec 11, 2013 3:52 am

Nat will not open at all for me, it just flashes on the screen and then disappears. I have not changed my configuration other than using the newest beta 606. And ideas?

As reported in the thread on the nebula-forum:

Nat broke for me as well, no idea since when but it's happening on both my PCs.

I see _something_ appearing for a brief moment (think it's the Nat window but it's too fast to see properly) and it's gone and the process dies silently.

it is the updater for Neb 64 bit that breaks NAT..

I had the same problem, in fact I'm the guy who discovered it was broken and pointed it out to some others.. but I came up with a 'work around' that you may be able to use.

I am on Win7-64 bit. But I also happen to have a virtual pc that is Win7-32 bit [any 32 bit pc will work]

Just get some version of Neb3 and install it on a 32 bit pc. Go to the install folder and find the NAT folder.

Copy that off to a thumb drive or whatever.
Copy and paste just that NAT folder into your updated Neb install. That NAT will run fine.

NAT3 is x86. NAT platinum is x86 + CMD x64 for deconvolve only. There is an issue in INIT (key) NAT files in lasted releases 602/606 (beta). You can use your old .505 INIT file in NAT3/P to run 602 or 606 (beta, last official release). Nebula x64 installer will not install NAT and never done before. We are beta testing an update that will we available soon for every one customer (PC/MAC) including new features and bug fixes.

I (we?) know that NAT3 is x86 only, and is only included in the x86 installer.

But the problem we have is that we install x86 nebula3 1.3.602, then x64 nebula3 1.3.602, and NAT3 will disappear when you run it. You see the window appear for a brief moment (sometimes not even that, but you see a taskbar button appear and disappear) and then it's gone.

Is there a fix for this?
