351 Emulation (free presets)

Postby yr » Thu Sep 29, 2011 1:41 pm

In the link below you can download 3 presets from a 351 tape emulation. You can use the input levels to control the harmonic distortion (take care not to overload Nebula). Flutter, delay and noise were not sampled. The presets sound quite different from the original emulation (some would say better ) probably because Nebula captured only part of the distortion.

Best,
Yuval

Because you are so productive it would be nice
to make a new thread with links to all of your
free releases..

you're welcome Nino. I'll make the suggested link thread and probably add a couple of presets.

Yuval, thanks a lot for all your new programs. They are all useful here.

For this 351 preset.Did you sample a software from a big ass Israeli company ;) ? Is it the one I'm thinking about ? Who start with a "M" finish with a "X" and have a "P" in the middle.

If no could you tell a little more about the source ? If it's too hot, just PM me :D

Yes indeed. I was surprised how different the presets sound when compared to the original. Nebula sounds much smoother. Perhaps to make the best comparison you need to run the original emulation much softer.. can't say for sure.

Interesting.Tested them on a drum buss and they sounded good for that particular task.

Anyway thanks for sharing Yuval you were able to end up with really good sounding "black magic soft chains" my man. ;) Good job!

Your welcome. I made a lot of experiments with frequency depended saturation. It's kind of tricky because you have to make sure there are no odd phase shifts or radical changes to the spectrum (like many vst enhancers introduce). After I finish testing my preamp & console presets I'll try to make some new bass saturation effects.
