Vinyl record sampling?

Postby Tim Petherick » Tue Nov 09, 2010 12:29 am

Any 3rd party developers fancy a go at getting some tones to Vinyl or Phonograph cylinder?

I guess this would be quite expensive to sample, right?!

I'm at it , but we've had some problems due to wow & flutter, which *could* be fixed now. Now that the (digitally controlled) motor is maintained, I will redo the sampling tests this week and have the files checked by Giancarlo and Michael. Knock on wood!!

Thanks for doing that, could you tell something about the gear sampled?
It´s a real vinyl cutter??
Or it´s a phono effect?

i made some tests back in 2007, when we first got a working nebula with kernels etc. i used to get the testones on a dubplate...but never had the chance to deconvolve them correctly, because of the wow & flutter! i hope you guys will have more luck with those digital controlled motors!!! 8-)
