H******* Console

Postby burnsound » Wed Feb 16, 2011 2:23 am

Why?

H******* Consoles sound great.
One was reportedly used on Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album.
Many films were mixed through them, and some still are. H******* consoles were reportedly the go-to mix console for major film releases for years.

Please, somebody sample a H******* console!

I have asked for that one too.
Didn't know about movies but yeah Thriller was mix on a H******* console (in Westlake, studio D,I don't remember the model, it worth checking it).
I think it as a lot to do with Bruce Swedien (and Quincy Jones!and Michael...RIP)... more than the console.

But I'm with Burnsound on this one.

PS: B.Swedien and Q. got a crazy patented recording system called Acusonic to add to Michael, the production, the recordings, the FX racks,etc... But yeah, a H******* console, modified or not !

Michael (Angel not Jackson)?, Alessandro ?, Niklas ?,Bob ? Eric ? Somebody else ?

Just found this from the H******* website:

"H******* music consoles are renowned for their pristine sound. In the 70's, ABBA produced all their hits on their H******* console at Polar Studios. The acapella introduction to Kansas' "Carry On My Wayward Son" was recorded from H******* console preamps directly to tape. Throughout the 80's, seminal music works were mixed on H******* consoles: Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and "Bad" albums were both recorded on a H******* console by Bruce Swedien. Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" was mixed on a H******* SeriesTen, And Sade's album Promise (inlcuding the track "Sweetest Taboo") was recorded on a H******* Series24 and mixed on a H******* MR3. High-profile music projects continue to be mixed on H******* consoles. "

He didn't release this program officialy yet, that's for sure.
But it might be still in his treasure chest ...
The best thing to do is to ask Michael.
