CUDA crashes Reaper on OSX

Postby dukesof » Fri May 06, 2011 4:08 pm

Hello everybody,
I hope i'm not wrong posting here.
I use Reaper 3 and Reaper 4 (the last alpha release) and both versions get crashed when i try to load a reverb with CUDA withe Nebula 3 Free.

I must say i'm not very confident with what belongs to CUDA but here is what i've done: (macbook pro on late 2010, Nvidia 9400M, 4gb ram)

installed Cuda driver
installed the toolkit (probably with no need)
checked the CUDA bridge (already installed)
change the .xml that refers to Nebula CUDA.vst

here is the report of the crash:

Thread 7 Crashed:
0 libSystem.B.dylib 0xffff0680 __bzero + 128
1 NeCuBr03.dylib 0x1950188a CoreOp32::CoreOp32(BRIDGEEXTENSION*) + 244
2 NeCuBr03.dylib 0x19501c4d cudabridge_op32p + 41
3 com.apple.carbonbundletemplate 0x18b92ed2 CoreCnvl::load9(long, CoreCnvl::FFTSTRUCT*, FFTEXTENSION*, int, long&) + 146

8 libSystem.B.dylib 0x97c5c7fd _pthread_start + 345
9 libSystem.B.dylib 0x97c5c682 thread_start + 34

What shall I do now?
Thanks guys
Fab.

Driver actually the last one (after installing popped up a message asking about update and i clicked yes) and toolkit also the 4.0, it seems to be the developer - maybe is not supported by CUDA in Nebula? It's better to go back to the last stable version of 3.xx?

Thanks giancarlo for your help

What shall I do?
downgrade to 3.0?
the Cuda Bridge included in the Free installer is ok, right?

cuda 4.17 works here. Use cuda only in nebula reverb and possibly for reverbs. Dspbuffer should be greater than 2048 so change it before selecting cuda mode
