Why is it called the GEQ-8300?

Postby RuudUnit » Mon Jan 10, 2011 10:48 pm

Referring to the cdsoundmaster library: Isn't the 8300 the preamp? The EQ is the 9500. It just seems a little odd....

edit: I may be wrong... I guess maybe the 8300 is a discontinued model? I can't find information about it. Anyone who can clarify - your help is most appreciated!

edit 2: Finding lots of info about the 8200 now. Maybe that's the unit that was sampled? I don't know why they would change it to 8300 though.

Hi there,

I decided to name it "1" higher than the original number. Yes... 8200

The 95 is literally identical but isn't seen as often, since not many want to pay $5000 extra for a $175 detent upgrades.

The preamp is the same topology as the eq that he is famous for aka very clean transformerless, fet-less, ic-less, servo balanced.
