Where a sound seems to emit from - it's locality. My findings are that at the lower sample rates the position of a sound in the stereo field is somewhat indistinct or blurry. At 192 khz it is a razor sharp focus. You can tell exactly where it is if you pan. I use 'VSL powerpan' and the difference in placement in the stereo field is extaordinary at 192 khz.

Just to clarify - I do not work at 192 khz per se. I am referring to using the 192 khz presets in a 96 khz project

I agree Henry, the panning does improve a lot at 192khz and so does everything else imho.
The only thing that doesn't improve is ease of use! :D

It certainly sorts out that crunchy digital top end too.

Hello Henry,

Say, I need to find out how to lower the volume level from one of your library presets called 'Intimate Drums'.

I was auditioning various patches when I loaded in the Intimate patch, the output levels was off the chart. I think it was +18 ABOVE nominal :o

There are a couple of programs [can't recall which ones] from other devs [one a distortion patch] that have too much output [compared with most everything else].

How can I adjust this ?

Thank-you.

Hey RJ

I really need to fix that preset as it was one of the first attempts at sampling but alas it is in the wild already. I must apologise to one and all who had the shock of their lives on loading it

First turn the FX slider down to taste. From the nebula front page Click edit - top right corner. Click glob - third from left on the bottom. Click on the Pad out setting so it is highlighted. Adjust to -40 db using the second fader on the right ( or decide what the sweet spot is for you). Make sure that the Pad in setting is 0. That should buy you about 12 or so dbs.
If it is still too hot adjust the PAD in setting as well. Turn it down as much as needed.
Click exit. Click save - top right hand corner. Job done. :D. This works on a per preset basis of course and you can use it to adjsut other troublesome presets like some more of my ahem earlier presets attempts.

Best wishes.
