ahh, i see.

i would love to see a feature in nebula where we could combine individual frequencies from programs. you could recreate something like the mammoth expansion programs and even combine different eqs.
even a unload function would be useful, that erases the unused bands from memory after you're done finding the right one.

I still haven't bought it yet but for fun I just made a shoot-out between the demo and the Softube T**e-T**h Pultec plugin....

Softube actually did quite an amazing job and even though it's not the same unit modeled by any means you can still make an observation about basic sound quality between them I think.

The Cooltec won since it sounds more effortless than the Softube especially when pushing the envelope. Both the hi and lo-end sound more natural and organic and transients sound more together with the Cooltec while the Softube has a tendency to round stuff off in digital sounding way.

Great job once again!

Hi,

i am disappointed just listening to the audio demos
comparing the real one and the nebula's version.
They don't sound alike and it is clearly audible.
I thought nebula would be closer than that to the hardware.

Regards.

There is certainly a difference, but it is exaggerated by the different sound levels . If you haven´t done so, try matching the levels between the hardware and Nebula samples to get a more accurate impression.

There isn´t two pultecs that sound exactly the same. But this program is absolutely great. In gearslutz there is some amtec (pultec hardware emulation) samples and dry ones. Try cooltec with the dry samples and the frequencies dialed:

Maybe they aren´t the same, but for my taste, cooltec is in the same league.

I think that Lorenzo is referring to the audio files comparing the Nebula presets to the original sampled hardware. This is of course the best way to measure any given preset for its authenticity. It would be great if all preset libraries were demo´d in a similar way so that we could all judge for ourselves how accurate they are.
