3rd Party Spending Spree

Postby cupraikso » Tue Oct 12, 2010 5:29 am

I have been a Nebula 2 customer since the beginning of Acustica Audio. Since then, I moved to Mac and longed for the Nebula experience on my Logic DAW.

So, I purchased the Nebula 3 Pro and got the AU and I am STOKED.

Beautiful sound.

Thanks to your comments in another thread, I bought:

From CDSoundmaster:
* R2R
* TapeBooster+
* Globe Console
* T*****t Console

From AITB:
* Mamooth EQ
* Fate Compressor

From AlexB:
* 73eq

What else should I get? HOHOHOHO

Byebye paycheck!!!!

I feel like I'm only missing the dirty sound of a N**e console ... think Muse Absolution ... where can I get that? :D

That would be the AlexB Vintage Blue console (or the VBC as it's commonly known).

Isn't that the one I have? the 73eq?

Also, would anyone confirm whether the VBC would give me that congested N**e sound?

Nope! It's the Vintage A*I or Vintage Black.

I wouldn't call the N**e: "congested" sound. Congested and 2D is the classic plugin sound. N**e sounds more like and open and deep sound, harmonically saturated if you push the console stages, glued with the typical "puff puff" sound due to his in/out transformers but always 3Dimensional. Remember that it's a pure calss-A console with some color in the midrange and silky highs, warm and harmonically rich sound.
Take a moment to listen the comparison in the listening room:
Vintage Blue Console is the N**e sound, the Brit-N is the classic congested one 8-)
Mix with the ears, not with the eyes...
