How did you demo it? There is no demo, you have to buy it first (money back guarantee).

But then, aren't you comparing it to a different unit? I thought you were talking about S*L (The Glue and 4KD).

Btw, it is a good compressor. Just not so "S*L". Something else, I'd say.

i thought stripbus bus compressor is modelled after S*L 4k..
anyway.. alex b 4kd is just a better bus compressor. and 76d will be my best fast track compressor..

Well, they say it's "inspired by" a S*L comp but I find it far from it. The Glue and 4KD DO sound like S*L's :) (actually, to be more specific, The Glue acts like a S*L, the 4KD sounds like one).

glue acts like S*L, 4kd sounds like it

good point.. although I can make 4kd sound like I want 99% of the time..

by the way does anyone know any vst other than uad and waves emulating S*L bus AUTO FADE function? The curve is very unique and it`s pretty hard to set up manually drawing envelopes.

I bought today Fate compressor and it worked very nice on master buss..good quite-agressive bouncing.. 4kd sounded just sad compared to it. I was quite surprised.. seems like there should be no "obvious choices" in mixing.. :P (..and 4KD did tame some hiend to much for that song..)

Honestly lipa,I've used each of my nebula compressor on the 2 buss at least once.VM/Fate/4K/ZODIAC/STRIPE/165/DRAW/etc...
If you're not so much focus on the gain reduction but on the color of the unit also, I'm sure you'll find some use for each one of them someday...

I produce, and in my conception of it,I'm responsible for sculpting and coloring the sound. From that, I use whatever tools drives me to what I want sound-wise.

Now from a mix engineer standpoint it might be different, knowing you have to deal with the producer vision. You may be less free to carry the song where you want.

(Of course I use some comps. more often).
