To Room Hunters-

Do you have any indications of how powerful a Computer we'll be needing to use your new product? Does this new product require more/less/about the same out of our computer when compared to the reverb programs that have been released to date for Nebula?

Thanks, looking forward to the "Theater of Life"!

Burnsound,

This is not a reverb to use as an aux effect, but as an insert, so our goal, was to do a light & nice program to use. The reverberation time is short, and the area of sampling is quite small. We use 3 kernels and 3 dynamic levels.
You should be able to load a lot of instances in the same time (for drums processing, for exemple) on a modern computer.

Don't forget, once you'r happy with your virtual microphone pair, you should record it to a stereo track (as a real microphone pair would be) and then remove the Room Hunters instances.

Will these be in true stereo (L+R channels for the Left source, L+R channels for the Right source)?

rrrobo,

These are mono to stereo programs, it's logical : you put a mono source in the space, and you recorded it back with a virtual microphone pair.

For stereo track you'll need two instances, it's more choices : if you have a piano recorded in stereo, you can put the piano in any direction you want in the virtual space. For exemple you can put the left of your piano, centered and close to the microphone pair and the right, centered and far from the microphone pair, then you'll have a piano as it's often shown on piano solo performances.

Maybe it's possible to do a stereo version with 2 XY Pad, but we are not there for now ;)

Ok, no problem, it sounds great what you've done so far and I look forward to true stereo compatibility as it is generally very hard to find high quality impulses of real spaces in true stereo at 96khz that are not tied to software like Wave IR1 or Altiverb, letalone anything as high quality as Nebula is capable of.

Cheers

Just to add, yes you're right it's ok if you're talking about mono sources but when you put a stereo source in the room, you want it to act like it does in real life. For anyone that's not familiar with what that is, it's that you get a different response in the left and right ears for a source that is, say, far left of you - there will be more of the sound in the left ear than the right as well as a slight delay, and vice versa for the right ear. But with a mono to stereo (non-true stereo) reverb you get the same response in each ear which can sound wrong with hard-panned sources or very wide stereo material. This doesn't at all mean that non-true-stereo reverbs aren't good (Virsyn Reflect and ENXT 140 Plate - two awesome reverbs, both non-true stereo), just that true stereo can sound really good if set up right, and I can't wait to hear it in Nebula.

Cheers
