Bought it the afternoon it was released. I already had FATE EQ. And I have to say, 73EQ and FATE do sound quite different. FATE is more elegant while 73EQ has more bite, ymmv. So to answer the obvious, though not asked, question: do I need both 1073s: Yes, think of it as two different EQs, not two sampled EQ of the same model. Purchase justified!
About the console: One word: stellar!!! Only scratched the surface yesterday. I was working on a 60s-style song, put IL4 on the lead vocal: instant gratification. I couldn't hear much difference when I soloed the track. But listening to the track in the mix, the difference was pretty obvious. Also I noticed, that it's easier to hear the differences between the various inputs while switching and listening to them in context of the mix. The groupchannels are very tasteful. But the star of the gang is the vintage master buss. I've been looking for this sound for so long. Trying to mimic this sound with regular plugs like UAD, while working out quite well for me, always sounded like - you name it - mimicry. I hate Nebula and especially you, Mr. Alex B. for taking away my last excuses for bad mixes.
What is the difference between the Master Clean Buss and Master Vintage Buss?
I have seen the frequency response graphs and there is clearly more high frequency roll off and more harmonics on the Vintage Buss. Is this because the signal was just being driven harder, or is an EQ curve applied too?
