Those MCI decks are great! A 16-track 2" configuration would be amazing!

Hehe, I can only sample what I've got at the time 8-)

I have a C37 here but it's in bit's at the moment.

Sorry for the basic question...

The 'Channel' is presumably the '37J XX.N2P'?

How different is this in sound to PE+DE? Is it some kind of sampled combo of the PE and DE? Is it a way to conserve cpu at perhaps some minor loss of authenticity? Or is it a different sound or even function?

I think you use channel plus optional sat flat or PE plus DE plus optional sat flat?

I'm afraid graphs don't mean much to me!

PE+DE is to get a nice tape saturation effect softening the highs, you don't need to add a extra channel. The PE contains the tone of the channel but you need to de-emphasis after (De emphasis instance).

You can use 37J channel for a just the tone if you don't want the saturation. It still has subtle harmonic coloration.

Tim could have released a version of the J37 before Waves but thought that with the techniques he was pioneering that he could do a better job if he didn't rush it.
I can only agree with everyone who has praised this library.
It is the most musical tape I've ever heard. Nebula users couldn't have been luckier in that there was access to a fully restored J37 in (now) pristine condition
that just happened to be sampled by someone with cutting edge techniques to capture those 52 valves, the saturation and the reality of the machine.
There are a lot of variations available, depending on the channels you select, whether you stack them to get the bounce down effect and how hard you drive the saturation options.
I've been saving my favorite chains using BlueCats patchwork so it's like a vst as far as recall and ease of use goes.
Its an absolutely stunning library.

Agreed. Most realistic, complete and satisfying tape library in Nebula to date. :)

"NOTE;Nebulas evf is mono only, in the case of using saturation on a stereo instance we should create Left and right instances in program like meta plugin."

Does this mean necessary for all stereo mixes or material? What is evf?

I think it means... each Nebula instance, if used in stereo, will work. It's just that you'll get L/R of the same single mono track response of the deck for each side... though you'll still get your original stereo track. Just each side processed the same.

If you wanna use it like a real deck... you'd need to use two instances of Nebula, one for one track of the deck for the left side of your stereo track, and another for the response of different deck track for the right side of your stereo file... to get two differing responses, as in left and right true stereo tape deck processing (the different responses each analog deck track would naturally have).

I think that's it. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes correct,

Same goes for all compressors or any dynamically sampled presets in nebula. you are essential detecting loudest parts and applying the same changes on each side.

I have requested Stereo evf in the past....

Just double checking- Pre–emphasis is channel, de–emphasis is saturation

So for stereo one instance of Pre (channel) followed by 2 instances De ( sat) split L+R, correct?

I split the pre for stereo fx. For example channel 1 on the left and channel 4 on the right.

So two pre programs and one sat program.
