Here's a good video that specifically addresses the legality of sampling EQ curves:

Im my opinion it is far less simplistic than "sampling hardware = ok / sampling software = not ok".

What about the L*****n PCM96 digital reverb ? Is it legal and/or ethical to sample the hardware unit ? Is it legal and/or ethical to sample the L*****n PCM plugins ? They are nearly the same.

Well, these are only samples, they're not reverse engineering or algorithm copying.

i agree
this was actually a very good example

That specific example is about an algorithmic reverb, not based on irs
We take in account converters, so our model is even different from 1 and 0 used by the developer itself

Just to clarify, the situation would be way different if they were going to sample altiverb

With this mix on headphones library - I'm curious what this, in fact, does?

Is there some kind of compensation for the spatial weirdness of headphones as compared to using monitors?

I would actually be interested in something like this as I now have to work a lot using headphones due to noise issues..

I have a good set of 'cans' Beyer Dynamic Dt-250, so I am wondering about what kind of benefits / enhancements the library adds to the headphone way of working?
