Tim, any chance of an updated TnT library? I've nearly pulled the trigger on it a few times, but with your recent advancements in your compressor libraries, I thought I might wait to if an upgrade was in the works. *fingers crossed*

*edit: just re-read your website and saw you indeed anticapte updating it. Looking forward...
ok, bye!!!

I haven't tried that 1084 library. Can't recall if his was a reissue or original module. The tone should be different AFAIK, based on the necessity to add a line inout for the 31102, and the custom PSU. Also different converters and sampling methods should account for some difference as well.

Tim's libraries are organized in a way that makes more sense to me, and having them at all sample rates is a big plus. That's all I can say for certain about the two.

Try them both yourself, and see how they feel!

Interesting thing about this unit, I have heard it is smoother than some other n*ve's, it could be a result of the curve. One other thing is I used the highest quality power supply, one that's designed by Neil Perry of Raw State, this actually affects how the unit sounds. I really felt it made a difference to the sound,to me It sounds smoother.

Strange, my PM went missing. Can't find it in the outbox or drafts or anywhere, even checked the pockets in the coat I wore that evening. Sending you a new one...

Interesting about the power supply - would that effect much more than the headroom? Or would the stability and isolation have any influence on tone?

I have all the N EQs on the UAD platform and find their 31102 to have a smoother character than the 1073 (even though mkII sounds noticeably nicer), so I suspect it has much to do with the actual curves and any gain/Q interaction. Their 02 doesn't model any dynamic behavior or saturation. It may be that the harmonics from your unit contribute to the smooth feel in some way too.

Yes I find it does effect the sound some what. I a/b power supply's too before sampling.

I suspect the high shelf dips in the high mids slightly differently.

Love that 10k boost its always a winner.
