just curious ... within AGENT, can knobs be 'LINKED' together? ... and then, possibly link conversely ?

I'm thinking Pultec technique, or linking Input/Output, or link Hi/Low shelves to site a few examples.

I know what you are talking about, it kinda does but its not
there yet...messes up a lot, i am in talks with Jeff.

I have this 'knob feature' with my NVC controller for AlexB's Pooltec [as an option].

I admit ... seems a simple concept [on the surface]. It was challenging, because I wanted to be able to maintain an 'offset' between the 2 knobs. They could track [in reverse], yet still maintain different start values of the Cut/Boost].
I didn't want to be locked into identical -1/+1, -2/+2 type of relationships, so I added an temporary over-ride.

Have you used the SE (light, no harmonic kernels) version? The tonal impact is more subtle, with less bass buildup during compression.

You may also try the N64, which has a very similar envelope but different tonality in the bass / lower mids.

I agree - I like the basic tone and compressor action but too much bass without some compensation. Here's a snapshot of a 'flat' pinkish noise and AB N54 (the green curve) that gives me the idea of a shelf shape to try. That is with no compressor action just the N54 compressor with GR meter showing 0. And like someone said N64 is less bassy but I like the N54 vibe so I'll try a shelf - didn't think of it before your comment.

Keep in mind that it will trigger pretty heavily on low frequency content, so that shelf shape may not be static or quite the same while compressing.

A good transparent dynamic eq like Nova is a great solution for these situations, able to keep the body and weight while taming moments or areas of excessive buildup.

True Brian its just the static difference a starting point perhaps - its a pretty hefty bump N54 adds, I agree NovaGE and the bx_dynEQ V2 are nicely transparent for managing momentary buildup thru-out the spectrum. My 2 favs at the moment... :)
