AB N54 or N**e 2254

Postby basaristudios » Mon Feb 15, 2016 4:09 am

Does any one know if there is a way of getting rid of the Low
Frequencies that the AB N54 adds when Compressing? I know with
an EQ but i meant if there is a way to Compress without adding
too much Low because it actually adds a lot.

Thanks

I use EQ most of the time but you can use any of your fine Neb HP filters to reduce the lows on N54.

Thanks David, use HP before or after because the sound will also
depend on it. I think maybe after, after they are added by the Comp.

Mostly use EQ/filter after a compressor so we can shape the sound to our liking ;)

Does the 'low end' get too compressed ? is what we don't know from your observation.

EQ after the compressor for shaping [as mentioned].

Pre-EQ [hi-pass] to lower compressor sensitivity.

Hey RJ, i don't mean over compressed, there is HP in the compressor
actually but it adds a lot of Lows, sometimes are welcomed but sometimes not.

I just tested for long time today, you actually need and EQ
after and not just HP and LP. The thing is once you compress
you need to lower the LOW but you also have to raise the HIGHS.

ok.

Maybe follow the compressor with a 'TILT' eq [?]

I need to do an audio check of N54 myself [been to busy to get to it yet]. I'd be curious if a response curve is available [VST Analyzer].
