the vintage Neev 81 Sidecar Console library has been released !!!
N81: Neev 81 Sidecar Console is the new version of the SC81. The unit has been resampled at both frequency rate 44.1kHz and 96kHz, it has better sonic performance and new presets. Custom designed and hand-made by AlexB, the sidecar console is based on eight legendary vintage Class AB mic-preamps and equalizers which come from the 70's era "with a lot of character" (Neev 1081). The summing amp has a vintage design of pure Class A with Carnhill transformers which gives that “in your face” Neev sound. A professional studio requested me to build this sidecar console for their dance-techno production, choosing the rich, dynamics and fat sound it has. Its high bandwidth pure audio path, superior dynamics and greater control make the Neev 81 Sidecar Console the first choice for recording and mixing Rock, Pop, Dance and more.

Hi AlexB, and everyone! I already have your great N14 library. I want to have some N**e Eq too. So it would be nice to hear your opinion because i'm not sure if i should get N73 library or N81. If I hadnt the N14 i would go for the N81 for sure but since i want mostly the Eq section its hard to decide. Seems like N81 has more bands features and N73 it's more the beloved model. Opinions are welcome!
The N14-version has a low cut on chords and melody with Alex B 's N73 eq (80Hz). With the N81, the included Low Cut Filter was used at 82 Hz. The same files where used. recorded: 44 Khz rendered: 96 Khz (thanks to Zabukowski 's NebulaMan.) Bounced to stereo-mix: 44Khz.
Many thanks grabie! Listening to your files helps me a lot.
They sound very different indeed. N14 + N73 hpf sound better to me. More focused and tighter in the Low, low Mids and somehow more open or dimensional in the Highs. Perhaps N81 has just more character and can be just perfect for other situations.
