answering my own question, emailed Tim and he replied and said it is the V2 the version on the site. Think he's going to add V2 to the name on the site for clarity.

Just bought it, thanks Tim

Back to Blue Mu, the compressor sounds controlled and nice on bass.

Thanks for the announce of X-filter v2 update.

Tim, please, for the next time include "preamp" presets in compressors libraries because it´s necessary for get a complete sound of the hardware with 2 instance of Nebula, one for the preamp, and after other with the compressor preset.

By the way there is a library with "preamp" presets of this hardware for use together the Tim library here:

http://www.nebulapresets.com/?product=h ... jo-192-khz

Then we use two instances of Nebula in this way:

-Preamp (Henry Olonga library)
-Compressor (Tim library)

I don't think this is true at all, if anything you could get further from the sound.

For starters harmonic interactions and high end emphasis are captured in one instance. This way you get a much better harmonic representation over fast dynamic changes.. If you use big slow program rate presets harmonic changes are slow giving a miss represented distortion compression effect. Also it depends where that distortion is coming from on sampling, for example it could be produced from envelope follower, this is one of the first things that needs to be worked out upon sampling. So for example in some cases you may have a closer emulation by not using harmonics in the engine and then recreating the distortion by timings in EVF.

I should create a blog to show pros and cons of doing different approaches. I think I could show some problems that are overlooked a lot .

I feel I create what is needed for each library to be as close as it can .

For example when I created dualtech, I made a preamp that was a fast program rate. This captured a slight compression effect when it was hit hard. This IMO was closer than doing a standard approach to configuring preamps in this example.

@emilieitor
I understand your idea, but I think it is important to remember that all Nebula preset developers have devised their own approach and result in their own outcomes. Michael's (CDSM) libraries, for instance, are often set up in the way you are describing and have those options for different uses such as using just his preamps to add harmonics to a standard "algo" plugin. Tim, on the other hand, has been working very hard on his own techniques and delivers a different product that has it's own advantages (not advantages OVER any other products from other devs, just DIFFERENT advantages...this is not a "product X vs product Y). If your ears say that your audio sounds/feels best using a preamp before and/or after a compressor, then go for it, indeed! "Necessary"? I trust all of these devs to release the best and what makes sense to them to perform the best for us.
