Cadpan dedicated -3db pan law auto/manual panner

Postby Tim Petherick » Sun Mar 08, 2015 1:22 pm

Detailed dedicated Panner and Volume. Plus Extra Bonus experimental auto-Panner presets with speed, Pan(offset) , dry and, Volume.

If used on every track it will add a subtle amount smooth character to the end of you processing chain. This pack captures the inevitable Cross talk of the analog device as well as harmonics and distinct log and -3.0 pan law.

About the hardware
CadPan Is based on a 80’s British Console. These Consoles are known for premium quality.

Normally it wouldn’t be possible deconvolve a panner with harmonics but in this case I’ve edited out garbage harmonics that wouldn’t be audible.

Special Auto Presets

The auto presets come with 3 different shapes, Sine, Triangle and Square. You can adjust the speed up to between 1hz to 24Hz. Also change the offset and change depth with a dry control.

Special thanks to hifi3000 for supplying a synth sample for the demonstration.

How does this pan function work in relation to the DAW pan knobs? If you use this library and pan 100% either right or left, do you then also have to pan the same direction using the DAW pan to actual get that panning effect?

I would also like to know more about the Sine, Triangle and Square shapes and why one would want to change the speed at all. What effects to each of those have on the signal?

I guess you put it on only the tracks that you are gonna pan. (if you want the full feature like also the volume fader of the console. put it all all tracks) they must be converted to stereo track (even if the source is mono) than put CADPAN as last insert and do your panning there. no need to touch DAW pan.
