HEAL 69 EQ CD SOUNDMASTER

Postby deehope » Wed Jun 11, 2014 3:47 am

I knew it... i knew it was a Helios he was going to release next. Just had a weird feeling. So this is 2 no brainer purchases in a row. I'm ordering this right now and that must mean the cl1b is right around the corner!!! :)

that makes 2 of us!! I know Ken lewis loves this eq on midrangey stuff. And i've heard the preamp described as clean but woody, great on acoustic stuff. Is there anyone used the real thing and can describe what they sound like?

I doubt Ken uses this EQ for "midrangey" stuff unless it is a different model. Bandwidth is very narrow and only suitable for specific cuts to remove unwanted stuff (at least that's how I use it).

I love this EQ (except the mid band) and I hear it as a hybrid between the Siemens W295b and the Q8 which are two of my favorite EQs in Nebula.

You had me second guessing myself for a second there, so I went and re-watched one of his tutorials and it is the Helios that he explains that he uses for his midrange. I don't know how different the UAD one is or what its modeled after but that's what he says is his favorite to use. He's actually not the only person that I've come across that states that too.

Holy crap. Ya, i wasn't planning on buying this library originally but I wanted to support it so we can get to the CL1B. Man am I happy I bought this. It makes everything sound polished/organic. The pre adds like an air to the source and the EQ is not intrusive and sounds great all the way up.

+1 , works great on drive Guitars and i added a Mid +3db at 700h on my Master Buss on a mock up ; it's just what was missing ...

Defenatly a "Special" high end Eq library that add a nice space to the whole mix when used on busses and Master ...

Thanks Michael :)

Waiting for CL1B as well ;)

So, did you see for yourself it's not suited for "midrangey" stuff? :)
