The most algo plugins are sounding flat in comparing to Nebula or the real deal. The question is, how much algo plugins can be loaded in a song and how much nebula instances can be loaded in a song?

@ Melon-Jack

can you do a third audio file with UAD 88RS plus one instance of Nebula with a MFC input stage on it?

@dagovitsj, hmm.. strange. I've made RMS normalize with Sound Forge (disabled equal contour etc).
Anyway, yeah, MFQ is sound like a real deal. UAD sounds good too, but, if compared to MFQ - boring, "dead", for me.
@dwagrimm about instances - UAD 88RS is really resource cheap and i definitely continue to use it. Just for complex textures or fat sound i'll use MFQ with no doubt =))

And yeah, i can make a third party audio file with UAD 88RS plus one instance of Nebula with a MFC input stage on it =))) You want all bands engaged in Nebula and set to unity gain? Which file i should get?)
Sorry for my bad english =))

Thanks for your work. Please do the same like in your other audio files. MFC vs UAD 88RS. Same settings. Only the UAD 88RS plus one Nebula with MFC input stage. This can be better compared with your other files.

But please the Nebula MFC stage AFTER the UAD 88RS.

thank you for this, Melon_Jack - really interesting test.

The UAD has an overly spitty nature while the MFQ sounds thicker and way more interesting.

@dwagrimm what do you want for audio file? Voice? Bass? Guitar?
And again, MFC for each band after UAD88RS so 4 bands or only one is enough?
Sorry for my bad english =))

The difference is night and day!!! UAD sounds like plastic, congested... while nebula sounds dynamic and 3d, without a veil.... pure hardware...

Please use the same drumtrack (drumroom) like you have used in the first comparing and do exactly the same like you have done there. At the moment I can compare your drumtrack through the Nebula MFQ and through the UAD 88RS. And now I need only a file of the same drumtrack through the UAD 88RS plus one Nebula MFC after the 88RS to compare it with your other 2 audio files. Nothing more. The question is, can the MFC open up the thinned UAD sound or not. Thanks.

Here you go. Yepp, MFQ adds something.
Anyway, listen to the Room tone. With MFQ it's definitely sounds more pleasant. UAD has more High freqs (dunno, settings was absolutely identical).

DrumRoom_MFQ_2.wav
(4.54 MiB) Downloaded 52 times

DrumRoom_UAD88RS_2.wav
(4.54 MiB) Downloaded 64 times

DrumRoom_UAD88RS+MFQ_LowShelf_Unity_2.wav
(4.54 MiB) Downloaded 52 times

And where is the audio file straight through the real deal?

No, joke, thanks for your work. I wished the UAD dont thin the sound so much.
