Thanks Alex! Finally grabbed that Fenix compressor. Very creamy and incredibly smooth - sounded amazing on an acoustic guitar just now 8-)

AlexB,

Yes I'm a beta tester (and was scared of online transactions until PayPal) and you'll notice I just purchased Preamp Colors & Saturation PRO with your 20% off deal.

I know you put your heart & soul into these and the results are stunning.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Years to you and yours - fantastic work man! :D

Yes I like the PreAmps and Saturation also. I picked up the Sidecar console & EQ w/20% discount. I didn't realize there was an EQ, mic/line preamps and bus in there - very nice!!!

So the sidecar is his own crafting of a N**e class AB front end and class A Mixbuss? Sounds versatile.

If bystanders don't mind a rant, I'd like to explain two reasons my tiny bit of cash went to what I bought.

1. Like light to a kaleidoscope: Take reverb for instance: it already fragments your audio into a million pieces. Running your signal through Preamp Colors & Saturation PRO gets those million pieces to sound based off (this list of what AlexB extracted):

T*****t S80 channel strip, A*I 512, Amek 9098, AMS 1073, AMS 1081, A****n VT737, Thermionic Earlybird, Calrec 1161 clean (sowter transformer bypassed), Calrec 1161 with sowter transformer engaged, Homemade tube-tape saturator flat + tube-tape saturator with tape gain, tube preamp from E*I console, Fatso + Fairchild preamp, F*******e Red 8 clean + driven, Lawo 672
, Millennia HV3C MTP standard, ADL600 stock tubes, N*****n V472, Rupert N**e Portico 5012 Portsilk with silk engaged, Siemens V72 tube preamp, Telefunken V72 solid state preamp, Telefunken V72 Tube preamp, S*L VHD clean 1-5 THD, Tonelux MP1a TwinValve clean-driven, SPL TwinTube driven + saturated, U*******l A***o 4110, T******h MP1A stock tubes, vintage Soviet tubes, vintage Siemens and Telefunken tubes, Vintech 1272, and M****y VoxBox clean, mid, driven.

So it's quite apparent with those flavors (which take EQ very well), it makes everything downstream better, including great reverb.

2. Endangered species/Backup plan: Some of those gems of yesteryear are on borrowed time, the tubes, capacitors and transistors of old won't be around forever, and even newer equipment blows out from time to time. Since all of those preamps are in any self-respecting studio anyway, it's a backup plan if a preamp on the list has a bad hair day and you need 99.9% of the flavor while repair options can be worked-out.

This is my reasoning, if you only had about $30 US and haven't bought any 3rd-party libraries (disclaimer: I've only tried what AlexB made available for testing purposes other than this), but I'm blown away by it and currently making presets based on historically successful signal chains.

Add a Henry Olonga U47, U67 and U87 and rejoice  Sonic bliss for under $50.
I'm a pauper and I ponied-up

Thank you for the Christmas discount, Alex,

I purchased the Fenix and have had a quick play with it, sounds really nice on the Stereo out buss.

I look forward to using on individual channel in Cubase. Does anyone have suggestions as to for what instruments the Fenix is particularly suitable?

Thanks,

Mauri.
