Clean but 3D Gain Staging

Postby mmarra » Fri Dec 13, 2013 4:00 pm

Hello,

Which program you would say has a somewhat clean but gives depth and 3Dness as I'm in need of a gain staging program for when I master ITB? I was thinking a console would be the best for gaining staging.

Thank you,
Mike

All Mojo from HO are 3D. M****y Massive Passive perhaps ? It is not so clean as you have the choice to favor HF or LF but sounds great imho.
Otherwise, the GEQ from CDS (in GEQ PRE mode) sound 3D and clean and you can alter the gain as you want.
dunno if it helps ?

The NVE PRE 73. It has been sampled from clean to very hot. It gives the signal a more "finished" and 3d sound and adds depth. And can also be used to add more weight with a hot preset. It can be used on separate channels or even on the master bus.

I don't think there any "magic plugin" that would give you that 3D effect.. to my experience, i comes from a combination of preamps, channel eqs, tapes and delays/reverbs.. and proper placement of the instruments (and brave use of the stereo field and panning)

The AITB Doc Fear has some of the best "separation" effect I've heard, but it's anything but clean.
