Preferred libraries for enhancing the midrange

Postby marcpinol » Thu Nov 03, 2011 9:23 pm

Well, the title says it all :-)

I'm in the middle of a mixing session and I noticed that between 800 and 5k there's a kind of a valley... The song is really simple (12 tracks, 3 reverbs, 2 busses) with a lack on that frequencies specially, so I'm finding problems to give some oomph between these two points.

Anyone?

For mids I personally really like any of the Pultecs or CDSM's Nice EQ, Q8, or Peak.... Many to choose from!

Jus tried Nice EQ, sound extremely (errr...) nice, but maybe is a little bit transparent for what I'm looking for. I have the Coolteq emu, I'll take a look :-)

For colour to cover up and creamy mid range.I use a 1073 .It's very rich not transparent .But could fool the listener into thinking it was recorded better than it actully was .Thats the magic of this eq. In my top 3 eq!

Get alex b's ,it's very vintage sounding and 3d.
