REVERBS, REVErbs, REverbs

Postby cactuseskimo » Wed Nov 02, 2011 5:54 pm

So, just looking for some user recommendations on reverbs for Nebula. Some questions:

-Are there any particularly good reverbs from the included library? It looks like a lot are just sampled plugins.

-I've never heard mention of Roomhunters Theatre reverb. Is it any good?

-I have cupwise's FM3, it's cool, but any other recommendations?

Thanks!

Go to the top menu of this site under Company and look at the 3rd party devs. Rhthminmind, VNXT, CDSoundmaster, Room Hunters, all have awesome rever presets. Some even have scaled down demos. Get a few after trying demos. If you are like me, eventually you will get all of them, they all are great at different things, but very awesome.

most of the reverbprograms are sampled hardwaremachines like emtplate, L*****n, tc, eventide ...
roomhunters theater is a real room, which has plenty of opportunities to shape the outcome. i like it a lot for real roomimpression. you can use it in every channel, when your computer is powerfull :D , and place the instruments in the depth and pan.

there are some other real rooms out there, but not that much at the moment.

You could also try the free Nebula HS Reverb (Hispasonic Edition).

Another "real rooms" reverb are the rooms that come in the Producer's Pack 2 from CDSoundmaster. I'm not sure if there are any demo programs but they are pretty useful.

Maybe you know something that I don't, but I looked for this a few different times and out of the 10 or more download links I tried, all were non-existent anymore.

Well, a little update. I purchased the Theatre of Life and VNXT plate. The plate seems nice - sounds like a plate I guess . . .

The Theatre of Life is cool, but it's hard to control. Even a minimum mic depth, it can be too much reverb, and although it sounds cool on some instruments, it is pretty much unusable on vocals adding a weird nasally quality to everything.

Just my two cents. I'm thinking of going back to IR's for the most part because I love real spaces, echo chambers, etc., and unfortunately I don't think Nebula has enough dedicated libraries yet.

Too bad they skipped the HS version, I think it's very usable.

I have both but to my ears Nebula is much more realistic (depth) than IR's (flat).

Try the free CDS PP2 reverb program "Small room".
STN has also a bunch of nice L480 and TC programs.

Use two TOL in order to create a true stereo FX and this: http://www.samplitude.com/en/news/dynam ... itude.html for a more dynamic FX.
