N**e pre

Postby tyrrell » Tue Apr 16, 2013 9:53 pm

I am looking into getting a N**e preamp preset. Just wondering what you guys prefer and why. At the moment i am most considering Henry's 1073 and gemini's 1073.
If anyone has used both and could let me know how they are different that would be nice too.
I am not trying to get anyone to say one is better or anything they both make great stuff i use all the time.

dont have those but Ill recommend these:
-alexbs vintage blue console, cheap, covers a lot of territory. thick.
-rhythminminds n-british,cheaper, simple. get the a-american too.

The pre that comes with AITB fate comp is great, its native 44.1, which is a big plus if that's your most used sample rate.

My personal favourites for N**e on individual tracks are Gemini Nve73 (for modern sound), Henry's Vintage 73 (for vintage sound, more colored), CDS N-Ten-84 (preamp alone is quite universal, eq goes vintage) - all three are great!! (cds nten84 is most expensive but You get preamp, full eq, filters and discount for the same library in vst plugin if You wish..).

Very hard to say which one is better or worse, they are just different models sampled through different converters etc etc.. all are top quality programs and for the price these are all no brainers..

As for busses and masters Alex VBC is an obvious and excellent choice. Henrys` Summo is awesome for modern sound. ;)
