Sorry for my bad english =))

Ok, the difference is:

4KD: individual channel - group channel - listen mic compressors of a S*L 4000

Snap: buss master compressor of a S*L 4000

I think.

4KD comes from SSL4000E, every compressor is "isolated" from the console, so you don't have the sound of the whole console but the sound of the PURE compressor.
In this way you can combine the comps with the console and eq for a great and authentic sound.

- channel compressor
- listen mic compressor
- group compressor (knowed as mixbuss compressor)

4KD User Manual

Two mix engineers that have spent their life on SSL4000E have beta tested this libraries and declared it sounds really close and with the same feel like their console.

However in the future ALL libraries will be improved in sound and performance and even the 4KD of course. 8-)

Best.
Mix with the ears, not with the eyes...

Nice.. Fate is awesome. 4KD I use lots on tracking. Slick9k and Rayflex are the "new" now. Amazing.

Well, like the all hardware, all of nebula libraries sounds different, i understand this. I just need a start point. And i decided to start with 4KD. About consoles i almost make my decision too. I think that will be VBC and CLC. Like many sound-engineers - VBC for tracking and CLC for mixing =) Sweet silky sound for start + punchy mix in result) So 4KD library is most have for me. Like the CLeQ and 73eQ. Even though Fate EQ and Comp for VBC already in my collection ^__^
BTW, Alex, do you have some N**e Comp?

I've got both plus a S*L comp clone. My conclusion is that the Alexb is the closest to my hardware. I can't hear any difference.
The AITB is more colored, they sampled more than the comp in the console.
