EAR Rooms Phase Issue

Postby Benjaminjo » Tue Mar 05, 2013 1:39 pm

I have wrote about this on AITB forum 1 week ago but nobody replied so I'm going to repost it here:

Some of the EAR Rooms presets are slighty out of phase in my DAW, the EAR Studio2b for example. Can anybody check that and help me debug the issue? Maybe its me or maybe not, anyway I've noticed that as I've changed the Nebula Buffer, the phase moved and other presets got affected by a small cancellation.
This is happening in Ableton Live via Insert and Send. Im going to check on another daw.
Please let me know

I'm trying right now in this system:

Computer: MacBookPro - half 2010, i7 2.66 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, OS X 10.8.2 -
Nebula version: Pro. v 1.3.502
Daw: Cubase 7.0.2

session sample rate: 44.1 kHz
EAR program: Studio 2b
FRT: 44100 Hz -> 44100 Hz
Routing: Nebula on a group send

I don't notice phase-issue, and if I try to switch the phase about 180° on the reverb channel it sounds awful, so I guess it's fine. :)

As you can clearly see in the second image, scroll to the bottom right corner, you can see the slight phase cancellation. As I said this is not happening with all the presets, in the example I've used the Perc Room.

It's usual if the reverb phase fluctuate between "0" and "+1" (most likely it'll never be "+1") but actually you're on the negative side, and that seems not ok.

Talking about the EAR Studio 2b preset I don't have the same problem as you can see on the picture:

I wonder what can cause this problem then. Waiting to "ear" an answer from Niklas and AITB.
Thank you for taking the time to do a test yourself Dream, much appreciated!
