I forgot to mention: good luck and may the force be with you! There is no compressor I'd rather have a gorgeous, working Nebula version of than an LA-2A, not one. It's really a fabulous device.

NAT can't currently deal with auto release. I've had great results with the nebula program + algo method. That is the idea behind my LApreA Gain Stage.
Being a stereo unit as well, it's great on for many coloring tasks.

Eric, I've got an IK to put after yours - is that what you would use for the nebula/algo-auto-release chain?

I actually like the CLA as the algo back end for this task because it has the R37 control available, occasionally useful; haven't had a chance to try out the IK yet. But yeah the LA-PreA is great for this, it gets a LOT of use around here.
