Aha! Thanks, I had forgot about these programs. A great list, I'll check it out.

Cheers

Wavearts Tube Saturator is a GEM of a plugin. Even today, it is a serious heavy load on the CPU... but not without the reward of very convincing analog saturation. Not a huge fan of their entire plugin collection, but that is a standout and not a lot of people know about it.

http://wavearts.com/products/plugins/tube/

they really went all out and made a great-sounding plugin instead of a "lite" plugin that runs fast. I use it parallel on vocals, guitars, drums whatever. I also have decap by soundtoys and just about every nebula library... it hangs with the best.

Thanks, jesse.nemitz! I haven't heard about that plugin before. I'll put it on my list of "check out"-plugins ;)

For light distortion i use Henry Olonga's Culture Vulture libraries (the Buzzard series).
For more distortions i like to use amp simulations, and i reaaally love this stock plugin from Studio One: Red Light Distortion.

Otherwise there is also Fabfilter Saturn, and Izotope's new Trash 2 looks very promising as well (half priced till 6th Dec). Those two are true versatile monsters in that area.

@ mpodrug: Interesting, but seems like the Red Light Distortion is only bundled with Studio One and not available as standalone plugin or? Good suggestion about Henry Olonga's products. I'll put that on my list too!

@ enriquesilveti: Yes, I found an OK review some days ago which states the same hardware, http://www.sonicscoop.com/2010/11/30/soundtoys-native-effects-bundle-reviewed-by-zach-mcnees/

Do you know if some of the hardware is sampled to Nebula progr - or will be in the near future (hint, hint!)?

Cheers

Thanks!
Ah, that was in my very first post - I didn't see the connection to the Culture Vulture and the settings in the Decaptitator regarding this T:Thermionic Culture Vulture Triode, P:Thermionic Culture Vulture Pentode before now.

YES! Now I downloaded the presets and read the manual. This is really interesting. VCult has both T and P.

By the way, it was exactly this hardware emulation in Decapitator I was searching for i.e. the T-setting: Thermionic Culture Vulture Triode! Now I'm going to do some testing.
